Panasonic cordless phone needs unpluging for caller ID to work..

It's been a week since I had a new phone installation at the new place I rent with my fiance. I asked the local phone company to enable caller ID on my standard PSTN phone line. A week after the line's initiation no caller ID displayed on the phone and I was going nuts believing that it was the phone companys fault since they must have forgotten to enabled the feature. Well it turns out that all I had to do was unplug the phone from the electric mains and replug it for the feature to work. Just thought of mentioning it since I was about to search the web if no logical solution came to mind.
